Obama's dog
I can't believe the complaints about the dog the presidential family got. There is way too much press on the day to day workings of the Obama family. I think they can choose whichever dog suits their family. To say that they should have gotten a shelter dog to set a good example is crap. That would be like buying the store brand of mac and cheese instead of a national brand to promote fiscal responsibility. I do have an adopted dog after looking at bred dogs, but chose him because of his looks and personality, not where he came from.

There are far more important things going on in our country than whether the presidential children have an unwanted dog that was already in a shelter or had been returned to the breeder. The only point that should matter is they rescued an unwanted dog.
ReplyDeleteI also agree there is too much press on the Obama family. I heard a news anchor commenting on how casual the media is with references to Michelle Obama. When did you ever hear the media refer to Laura Bush as just "Laura"?
The real discussion should be about the fact that they should have gotten a cat instead of a dog. lol
ReplyDeleteI think the whole media and everyone else should focus on something more important in the white house than an animal. Do we really care what the first family does day to day? We put Obama in the white house to better our country not to see his personal business and day to day living.
ReplyDeleteYou know, no matter what kind of dog they had gotten, whether from a pound or a breeder, they were and will continue to have somebody fussing. Just think, the mutt from the pound takes a nip out of a visitor, god forbid some head of state, and the furor will be because they brought a mutt into the place. Or let's say it is the pedigree dog who does the nipping, well then they will say, "Oh, didn't they know that purebreds are high strung?" See if they had gotten a cat like Sue mentioned, then no dog biting. The cat would wisely hide under a bed when company comes to call. And it is a lot easier scooping out a litter box, than bagging doggy doo.
ReplyDeleteThey shoulda got a goldfish.

ReplyDeleteThe guppy rescue organizations would have mounted a "one million guppy" march on Washington because the Obamas didn't get a guppy. They would throw tons of Pepperidge Farms goldfish crackers on the White House lawn. The pigeons would eat the crackers and the pigeon rescue would blamed the Obamas for making the pigeons sick and mount their own protest. Economy? What economic downturn? The media is too busy reporting on Petgate, lol.
ReplyDeletePS. I'm a dork and had to edit my own comment.
When I saw that your previous post had been deleted "by the author" I thought it meant Rob had deleted it. And I thought, 'wow, he must said something really really bad for Rob to censor him". lol
